Another unlucky trip for Texas Tech that in Chicago, after an overtime, lose against De Paul for 65-60. In an intense race, characterized by many mistakes in the shooting and in which the protagonists are the defenses, the boys of coach Beard run into the third consecutive defeat, the second gained at overtime.
A very balanced first half with a good start from Texas Tech which reaches +7 at mid-term. Then comes the response of De Paul who with a counter break manages to take the lead, but the Red Raiders respond blow by blow and manage to go to rest on +3. After 20 minutes of play the score is on 26-23 in favor of Texas Tech.
The second half begins again along the lines of the first with the teams that respond, rather than to the sound of baskets, to the sound of defenses. Parity reigns supreme up to 7 ‘from the end, when Texas Tech manages to take off with a nice partial and to go to +6 3’ from the end. De Paul, however, is not there and with a flash, they manages to recover even this last disadvantage, impacting the match to the siren and sending everyone to the overtime with a score of 53-53 after 40 ’of play.
The overtime started well for the Red Raiders with Moretti’s two free throws and Terrence Shannon’s layup which allows him to take on +4. The opponent’s counter-break comes immediately and allows overtaking De Paul, Terrence Shannon still responds with a triple, but the last minute of the game is all from De Paul who with 7 consecutive points manages to establish himself on Texas Tech and win the victory with the score of 65-60.
For Davide Moretti 10 points and 2 steals in 35 minutes.
