A truly complicated match for the Red Raiders who never manage to enter the game, especially from the offensive point of view: Texas Tech will shoot throughout the match with 33% from the field and from three points and will only make five trips in bezel. Oklahoma, taking advantage of the bad evening of the opponents, maintains the double-digit advantage practically throughout the match.
Oklahoma starts immediately very strong and in the first 5 minutes goes 2-11. Texas Tech tries to enter the game with Edwards’ basket, but in the middle of the game the opponents get the first double-digit advantage, 6-19 after 10 minutes of play. In the second half of the time, the Red Raiders try to give continuity to their attack, hitting several times and, despite the opponent’s baskets in response, manages to conquer -9 with Moretti’s triple, 17-26 after 16’. The first half ends with another hit and baskets response that sets the score at 22-32 in favor of Oklahoma after 20 minutes of play.
At the start of the second half, Texas Tech seems to be starting well, but the opponents also do it and after having fought back at the Red Raiders ‘baskets, they go to +16, 26-42 after 5’ of the second period. Texas Tech, despite yet another break of the match, I try to bounce back with a partial 5-0, but Oklahoma’s response is immediate and comes with another 10-3 counterbreak that makes +18 opponents fly, 34 -52 to 6 ‘from the end. The Red Raiders, despite the bad night, do not lose heart but try again to make up again by returning to -10 to 3.39’ from the end, 46-56. The last minutes of the game, however, are all registered by Oklahoma which, not satisfied, continues to score and the siren wins the victory. The final score is 51-65 in favor of Oklahoma.
For Davide Moretti a performance “in line” with that of his team, in a really complicated game from the offensive point of view. Closes with 3 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assists in 26 minutes.
